This is a great movie about a kid who lives in an old mining town in West Virginia, and he wants more out of life then working in the coal mine. He finds a way out one day while looking up at the stars and seeing spudnik the Russian satilite. This gives him an idea to build his own rocket and enter it into the school science fair. Most of the movie revolves around Homer and his friends building and testing there Rockets. It is a great movie, that is based on a true story. I recommand this movie to anyone who likes to route for the underdog. If you watch this movie you won't be disapointed.
