After a dozen years flying for the Navy, a pilot resigns his post and takes a vacation to Mexico to stay with a friend who's life he saved on a hunting trip. The man is a powerful businessman and welcomes the veteran into his house. The ex-pilot is introduced to the businessman’s much younger wife and the two fall in love.
When the husband catches wind of this, his orders are to kill the pilot and banish his wife to a whore house. When the badly beaten, but not dead, pilot finally recovers, he sets out to find the woman he loves and kill those responsible for what happened to them. This film was an effort of Scott’s to break his developing stereotype as an action film director and show that he is a talented dramatic and romantic filmmaker.
The film did very poorly at the box office, but is held quite dear to many of Scott’s fans.
