The second in the Evil Dead trilogy. This film is strange in that it's not necessarily a sequel to the first film, almost more of a retelling or rethinking. The plot is basically the same, the things that happen in the first movie don't seem to have any effect on things that happen in this movie, and the very end of this movie is totally different than the ending of the first despite the fact that they both kind of lead up to it the same way.
It succeeds at being more comical than the first and is, overall, more well put together. I guess that’s what money can do for you. With a much more significant budget, this film is what Raimi intended the first Evil Dead film to be.
