“The ultimate experience in grueling horror!” Ever since a surprising endorsement from Stephen King to the movie's horrific claims, this film has been the king of Halloween cult classics. More of a gruesome comedy than a horror flic, the investors were originally upset with the film's slapstick approach. But after seeing their investments grow, they shut the hell up.
The story follows four teenagers who discover the origins of evil in an abandoned cabin in the woods. Also interesting: Raimi originally wanted to title this film The Book of the Dead, but changed the title after being advised that using "book" in the title may wean off teenagers thinking it was some sort of literary work or something. Teenagers is so dum.
