| Where Did PopcornMonsters.com Come From? |
PopcornMonsters.com was started in September of 2001 by Ken Cochrane.
Ken was frustrated with Movie Critics and how they always seemed to recommened movies
he didn't like, and hate the movies he liked. After talking with a bunch of fellow
movie lovers he realized he wasn't alone, other people felt the same way he did.
After lots of thinking he decided to create a website where movie lovers could
meet and discuss movies.
The website had 3 main goals:
- Provide Reviews that are simple to read and understand.
- Provide a rating system to help users decide which movies are worth seeing or not.
- Provide a nice easy movie review system so that anyone off the street could write about a movie they just saw.
The idea was simple, provide a nice website with lots of movie information for the average movie goer,
with movie reviews from people who actual payed with their own money to view the movie, in an easy to
read format.

| Where are all of the Critics? |
|
PopcornMonsters.com doesn't have any movie critics because
we feel that movie critics aren't the best people to get movie
advice from and here are our reasons why.
- Movie Critics are usually people who went to school to
study movies, and they look for more in a movie then the
everyday joe. Where as regular people like you and I usually
don't care about half the stuff they look for in a movie.
- Movie Critics watch every movie that comes out,and they
seem to be very hard to impress, so they always give alot
of decent movies a bad review
- Movie Critics don't have to pay to watch a movie, the
movie studios usually pay them, if they pay the critics
to watch the movie, who knows what else they pay them to
do.
- Movie Critics are just one person, when you read a review
from a critic you only get one side of the story, we like
to have many sides of the story. I like certian kinds of
movies and I am sure you are the same way. If you and I
don't like the same types of movies then why would you possibly
listen to my advice for a movie? you wouldn't. Ideally you
would find someone with the same movie tastes as you, and
listen to them. hence the reason for this site :)

If you have movie related material that
you would like for us to add to our site, please send your

patient we are constently getting requests to add information
and we only have so much time in a day.
