This is a vampire, horror movie with loads of violence, death by various weapons and so much blood. It would make the Red Cross come running with a quickness. It is an adaption and i havent read it personally. I feel the movie is fairly well paced and the action doesnt really let up except for setting up the next scene or way to go for the main characters and those that choose to follow them. They are in a town that just had its last day of sunlight as the name suggests they are in for 30 straight days of nothing but night.
Making it a perfect place for the resident blood suckers to salivate and pile up a body count of crazy proportions. They come in slowly and basically start picking off the townsfolk. The sheriff played by Josh Hartnett, his wife played by Melissa George..i believe they are seperated. His brother and a few other people have to band together to try and make it through this onslaught. While being hunted by the vampires and basically trying to stay alive while scavenging for food and shelter.
The movie seems have been done well as the characters make it believable and are determined to survive this despite all odds. Also the sets and everything are pretty cool along with the snow effects and of course the main reason. I was interested the vampires and the violence are in great abundance throughout and keep your attention until the very end where. It left we wondering why a certain character did what they did.
