Kate Holbrook (Tina Fey) is a 37 year old corporate executive for an organic groceries chain. She is desperate to have a baby. But, after being declared infertile by her doctor, Kate decides to hire Angie Ostrowiski (Amy Poehler) as a surrogate mother. The two are complete opposites and the expected "wacky hi-jinks" ensue.
I thought this movie would be either hilariously funny or incredibly stupid. But the truth is that it falls smack dab in the middle. It is certainly not as smart or fall out of your seat funny as the recent raunch comedy classic "Super Bad". But neither is it as idiotic as the latest Adam Sandler flick.
If you are looking for a comedy currently in theaters I would first suggest "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". But "Baby Mama" still offers a decent opportunity to enjoy a few laughs, while turning your brain only halfway to mush. |
