As far as chick flicks go, I'm a fan. But many today just have to add the graphic sexual ingredient and sprinkle it with a number of other inappropriate themes. It was refreshing to find a movie that had very little to worry about. Everything You Want is about Abby Morrison (Shiri Appleby) who, for her entire life, has had the perfect friend, Sy (Orlando Seale). Her parents weren't around much, and she needed a playmate. Now he is her wonderful, mushy, romantic-comedy-loving boyfriend, who is actually just a figment of the imagination. In Abby's art appreciation class, she meets annoying, ignorant Quinn Andrews (Nick Zano) who doesn't care about art and just needs credits to graduate. Her roommate, Jessica Lindstrom (Alexandra Holden) announces that her cousin is in town for the semester, and is stopping by for dinner, unfortunately, on the night of Abby and Sy's anniversary. Much to Abby's chagrin, the cousin turns out to be Quinn. A deal is made, with relucant agreement from Abby, to tutor Quinn in art. He grows on her, and Sy is scared that Quinn is taking over Abby's life. Abby must decide whether she wants her perfect guy, who will never be able to really be with her, or the real thing, who has imperfections and can never live up to Abby's imaginary Sy. It is the cutest movie and Quinn's roommate, Cal, played by Will Friedle, is hilarious and makes the movie much more comedic. All the characters were perfectly cast and fit their character's personality just right. I recommend this movie to anyone!!! |
